How does Hoop automatically catalog my clothing purchases?

Hoop uses your past order confirmation emails to automatically extract information about your clothing purchases. Once you sync your email with Hoop, the service scans these emails to create a digital catalog of your items, making them visible to potential buyers.

How long does it take to sync my purchases to my Digital Closet?

Syncing your purchases to your Digital Closet typically takes between 5-10 minutes, depending on the number of order confirmation emails in your account. You'll receive an email notification once the sync is complete so you may leave the site while your closet is syncing.

Can I sync multiple email accounts to capture all my purchases?

Currently, Hoop supports syncing one email account at a time. If you use multiple email accounts for shopping, you should choose the one you use most frequently for purchases.

How is my personal data protected when I sync my email with Hoop?

Hoop takes your privacy and security seriously. We use secure encryption methods to protect your data during the email sync process. Your email credentials are not stored, and we only access order confirmation emails relevant to creating your Digital Closet.

My digital closet does not reflect all of my past purchases? Why are items missing?

There are a few reasons why your digital closet might not reflect all of your past purchases.

First, we are intentionally selective about which items we populate in your Digital Closet, prioritizing those with good resale value to ensure you receive high-value offers.
Second, we only pull items from order confirmation emails from Hoop’s approved list of merchants. This list is continually expanding, so new items may appear in your account as we add more merchants.
Third, we currently only save certain categories to your closet, with plans to add more categories like jewelry and pants in the future.
Fourth, Hoop supports syncing one email account at a time, so purchases made with other email accounts will not be reflected at this time.

Can I upload items to my Hoop Closet that were not captured in my email?

Currently, you cannot manually upload items to your Hoop closet. If this is important to you shoot us an email at [email protected] and let us know so we can build this functionality for the future!

How will I be notified of offers on my items?

You will receive notifications of offers on your items via text message. You will have 24 hours to respond. Make sure to provide your phone number during the onboarding process to ensure you receive messages notifying you of your offers.

How can I edit the offer eligibility of items in my Digital Closet?

You can change the offer eligibility of items in your Digital Closet by logging in to your Hoop account and updating the status of each item using the ”Edit offer eligibility” button in your Hoop dashboard. You can make items eligible or ineligible for offers at any time based on your preferences.

How long does it take to receive offers on my items?

The time it takes to receive offers can vary based on demand, seasonality, and fashion trends. Some items may get offers quickly, while others take longer. With Hoop, your items are listed without any effort on your part, allowing you to receive offers anytime while still wearing your items!

How do I accept or decline an offer?

Respond directly to the text message - no need to open your closet. You’ll be prompted to reply Yes or No.

Am I obligated to sell an item if I receive an offer through Hoop?

No, you are not obligated to sell any item. You can review offers and decide whether to accept them based on what people are willing to pay. If an offer interests you, you can accept it and complete the sale; otherwise, you can decline it.

What happens if I don't respond to an offer within 24 hours?

If you don't respond to an offer within 24 hours, the offer will expire.

What happens once I accept an offer?

Once you accept an offer, Hoop will guide you through the process to complete the transaction. You'll be provided with a shipping label and QR code to send the item to the buyer. After the item is shipped and received, Hoop will process your payment via Venmo or another designated payment method.

What steps are involved in shipping an item once it is sold?

Package the item, print and affix the label or scan the QR code at your local USPS, and send it to the buyer within 3 days fo accepting the offer. Hoop will notify you once the item is received, and your payment will be processed.

How do I get paid for items I sell on Hoop?

You’ll receive paid once the transaction is completed, typically 7-10 days after you ship out your item.

Are there any fees associated with using Hoop?

Yes, Hoop charges a 10% fee on the sale price of each item. The offer price you accept is net of Hoop’s fee already, so what you see is what you’re paid!

Can I cancel a sale after accepting an offer?

You cannot cancel a sale after you accept an offer. Once you reply "YES" to an offer from a buyer, you are obligated to ship the item. If there are multiple occurrences where you accept an offer but do not ship the item, your Hoop account may be suspended.

Can I set a minimum threshold for offers for items in my Hoop Closet?

Currently, you cannot set a minimum offer amount for items in your Hoop Closet. However, if you refuse an offer because the price is too low, we will ensure that future offers for that item are higher than the one you declined. We may add the functionality to set minimum offer amounts in the future.
